About Boutwell
The Boutwell School is the home to Groton Dunstable Regional School District’s Early Childhood Center. Located in the historic district of Groton, the Boutwell School was built in 1914. With its six classrooms, high ceilings, and tall windows, Boutwell provides children and families with a warm, supportive, and nurturing introduction to the school system. Boutwell’s preschool classes are completely integrated. This means that all preschool classes have a balanced mix of typically developing children and children with special needs. Through their daily experiences, children learn that every one is a unique individual, that we all have strengths and we all have weaknesses, that sometimes we help others and sometimes we need help ourselves. Children learn about tolerance, respect, and independence. They learn the excitement of exploration, discovery and understanding. As their awareness of others increases, children learn what it means to be a friend. In other words, some of the most important skills that people ever need to learn, are learned right here at Boutwell. If you ever need to remember how exciting learning can be, come check us out at Boutwell.
