Calling on Grade 7 Parents – traditionally, the 8th graders have a ‘breakfast’ and sign yearbooks on the last day of school (June 12th). Seventh grade parents usually are asked to provide this breakfast. If you are interested in sending something in to keep this tradition going, this would be much appreciated. More info to follow.

News from the Grade 8 Communications Classes that are each working on a community service project:

A. One class has decided to focus on children dealing with cancer. This class would like to support someone in our school community that is dealing with cancer themselves, or a loved one of someone in our community who is dealing with cancer by holding a fundraiser with the goal to raise money to support the person’s charity of choice and to provide them with a gift basket. This person could be anonymous if they wished. If you know someone who needs support and cheer, please contact Ms. McCollumn. She will keep the family name anonymous but will be able to let us know what charity our fundraising can go toward.

B. Another class is working on a Memorial Day Ceremony. On May 10th, the school will be holding a patriotic day. On that day we ask that students bring in $2 to raise money to purchase a small flag for each 8th grader to plant by our outdoor flag on Memorial Day. A patriotic hat will go to the first 75 students in each building to bring in $2 that day. On patriotic day, we hope that everyone will wear red, white, and blue! On the Friday before Memorial Day our class will hold a school wide ceremony and will plant the flags.
