Principal Update March 6, 2018

  1. Our 2nd trimester will be closing on March 12th.  Report cards will be available to view during the week of March 26th.  I will send out a reminder on the specific day they will go live.
  2. The Elementary School Science Showcase registration deadline is this Monday, March 12th.  Please visit their website: for more information and to register.  If you have any questions, please feel free to give me a call.

  4. We have been sending attendance letters home when your child has accumulated 7 unexcused absences.  It is state law to notify parents when they reach this amount.  According to our student handbook (this can be found on our website).  Excused absences are covered through a doctor’s note, a religious holiday, or a death in the family.  Family vacations are not excused absences.
  5. During the first week of April our APT is sponsoring an author visit for our students.  Children’s well- renowned author Jerry Pallotta will meeting with each grade level to share his expertise about writing.  If you are interested in purchasing any of his books, please let your child’s teacher know. We can send home an order form with a list of his books.
  6. Our District Community Education Team has been discussing the possibility of offering summer programs to support elementary students in the areas of reading and math.  To gauge interest, they would appreciate taking a minute to fill out the attached survey:

Lastly, one of our new core values that we have been working on and sharing with students is perseverance and more specifically, “GRIT”.  You may have heard your child mention this word at home.  I have attached a short TED Talk video that explains why grit is a positive trait to instill into our students:
