Principal Update October 4, 2019

  1. We had a wonderful first month of the the new school year.  Our students have adjusted very well to their new grade level, and we welcomed over 20 new students to our SU community.  As we enter October, our students are fully immersed into their learning.
  2. Our staff wants to give a big thanks to our APT and many parent volunteers for providing a delicious breakfast last week.  There was such a generous amount of food, we were able to have lunch as well.
  3. Our “Back To School Picnic” was a fun event for our students.  The APT and volunteers once again provided a great night for our SU families.  The science and magic shows were a hit, and I hope our students enjoyed turning me into a ice cream sundae. It was very sticky evening for me, but I loved it.
  4. I am excited to report that for the second year in a row Swallow Union has been a selected as a “School Of Recognition” from the state for our high achievement on our MCAS.  The state recognized 67 schools for this prestigious honor.  Our students and staff should be extremely proud of this accomplishment. Our current 4th graders will be receiving their results report next week.
