On Monday, June 6th, over 100 community members gathered to celebrate the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new Florence Roche Elementary School. Speakers included:
- Dr. Laura Chesson - Superintendent of Schools
- Jack McCarthy - Executive Director of the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA)
- State Senator - Edward J. Kennedy Jr
- Town Manager of Groton - Mark Haddad
- GDRSD School Committee Chairperson - Brian LeBlanc
- Florence Roche Elementary Principal - Brian O’Donoghue
At the ceremonial groundbreaking, several students from Florence Roche Elementary participated, including Kinsley Twomey, Emersyn Twomey, Kellan Engstrom, Elise Engstrom, Jonathan Benagh, and Jacob Benagh.
