Thanks for sending back your child’s wishes for our Wish Tree! I LOVED reading the wishes that have come back to us so far. We are always looking for ways to provide children with choices and control over their own learning, and we look forward to incorporating these wishes into classroom discussions and learning opportunities.
On Monday, we will be sending home a page of visual supports that might be helpful for students who are having trouble coming up with their wishes, or for those that need some scaffolding to communicate their ideas. Feel free to help your child cut and glue one of these pictures to his or her heart, to write their wish, or to draw his or her wish.
Officer Pete from the Groton Police Department visited the Boutwell on Thursday. He explained that lockdown drills are just a practice, and that students should listen to what their teacher tells them to do during all drills. We then had a quick lockdown drill. This change in routine can be hard, but the children did a great job listening and sitting quietly. The children were thrilled to have Officer Pete in their classroom. Thank you for helping to keep us safe every day, Officer Pete!
Congratulations again to our Holiday Fair Contest winners! We had two
families (the Plotkins and the Hoopers) who each submitted over 300 Box
Tops and got to enjoy VIP seating at the Holiday Fair. Well done! We
collected $325 for our schools with this contest. That’s 3250 Box Tops!
Great Job, everyone! With this contest, we now have $650.10 towards our
goal of $2,500 for the year.
Our 100th Day Contest starts soon, so keep clipping and collecting!
