Dear Florence Roche Families,
I wish you all a healthy and restful Thanksgiving break. Every year, this break always seems to come at just the right time. This year it is especially timely as we have all had so many new things to figure out and learn. We will all benefit from a few days to just relax and enjoy the people and activities that mean the most to us.
I’m looking forward to a simple gathering at home with just my wife and 2 children. Whatever your plans happen to be, my hope is that you and your family are safe and healthy. If you plan on traveling out of state to visit with family and friends, please follow the state and district guidance for out of state travel.
We want all of our students and staff to be safe upon returning to school after the break. Your cooperation and compliance with this travel order will help us all to remain healthy and safe. Thank you!
Please note that Wednesday 11/25 is a remote ½ day for all students. Hybrid and remote students will each follow their regular Wednesday schedules with their respective teachers. Remote learning will end for all students at noon. Friday, 11/27 is a no school day for all students. School opens after the break on Monday, 11/30.
Kindness and gratitude are important to acknowledge at all times. However, we tend to reflect more on these qualities and emotions at Thanksgiving time. I am grateful for the opportunity to work in a supportive school community with a caring staff and hardworking students.
Our 4th grade students have been thinking about kindness and how they model it. Here are some of their ideas taken from their “Kindness Quilt”. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
