Principal Notes – December 4th

Dear Florence Roche Families,

Happy December!  We have been fortunate with our back to school weather this fall with comfortable temperatures and very few rainy days.  Hybrid students have been spending a lot of time outdoors for movement and mask breaks, as well as recess and instructional opportunities.  Students are encouraged to dress for the day’s weather (coats, sweatshirts, etc.) as we will continue to get outside whenever possible.  Button up those coats for this weekend’s forecasted snow!

Flu Shot Reminder

The influenza vaccine is required for all Groton-Dunstable students Pre-K through Grade 12 regardless whether they are hybrid or remote. Please drop off, email or fax a copy of your student’s flu shot to the school nurse no later than December 15, 2020 to allow for processing by the December 31st deadline.

We appreciate your continued patience as we work to resolve the many questions regarding the school photography.  O’Connor Studios will be back for picture retakes on 12/15.  They have asked that anyone who has not yet received a picture package by mail, please see the note below and follow the link to the question form.  We have distributed all of the pictures that were delivered to the school.  We acknowledge that the process was different this year due to our circumstances and we are working to resolve the many issues.  Thank you again for your patience.

From O’Connor Studios…

Dear Families,

We hope this email finds you and your loved ones healthy and safe.  It has come to our attention that several families may have not received their school picture order to date.  As you are probably aware there have been some challenges in shipping delay’s as well as our plant and office having quarantining issues that we have been working around.  In order to expedite your questions we are asking that you no longer email the school about your school picture issue.  We have set up a Google form for parents to fill out with their questions that will organize your inquiries for us so that we can expedite your order.

This form will be live from 12/3/20 to 12/7/20.  Please be as detailed as possible.

We appreciate your patience.

Thank You

Community Notes…

My name is Cindi Lane-Hand and I am a member of the Affordable Housing Trust here in Groton.  I am emailing contacts at each school to inform you of a program that the Town of Groton is offering for Groton residents struggling to pay rent during these unprecedented times.  The link below contains program guidance and application information.  The program is being facilitated by a third party vendor to allow for increased privacy.

Please feel free to forward this to others.  We are trying to make as many residents as possible aware of the program.
