Principal Notes – March 12th

Dear Florence Roche Families,

This week marks the 1 year anniversary of our school shutting down last spring due to COVID-19.  All of our lives have been impacted by this virus in one way or another.  I am proud of how our school community has responded to this challenging year and adapted our learning model whether in person or at home.  Our priority has been to keep everyone safe and healthy while continuing to learn..  I want to sincerely thank all of our families for your patience, flexibility and support in making this all work.

FR OutsideThe spring weather is definitely here!  It felt great to be outside in the sunshine and many of our classes took advantage by having snack and lunch out in the fresh air.

Our next school spirit day is scheduled for Wednesday, March 17th.  All students whether in person or remote are asked to wear something green or rainbow colored.

Our virtual Literacy Night is scheduled for Thursday, March 25th.  This year’s theme is poetry and our special guest will be poet Darren Sardelli.  Make sure to put this engaging celebration of family literacy on your calendar!

Cheney Harper, our English Language Learner (ELL) coordinator, is collecting data on the variety of different languages spoken by our staff and families.  Please complete the Florence Roche Language Survey to represent the language(s) spoken in your home.  We will share our findings later in the spring.

A reminder from our public safety representative…

Please drive slowly and with caution as you make your way through the campus during drop off and pick up.

Have a nice weekend!
