Dear Florence Roche Families,
It was great to see so many students and their families coming together last night for our Literacy Night poetry celebration. Darren Sardelli shared many humorous poems and the creative stories behind them. His best advice for aspiring writers is to start an “idea book” to capture all of those seed ideas that could grow into a poem or story. Thank you to the Groton Commissioners of Trusts for funding this experience and a big thank you to our literacy team for putting it all together for us!
Here is the list of our book raffle winners from last night.
In person winners can stop by the Literacy Center to pick up your book. We will connect with any remote student winners and arrange for you to pick up your book.
Congratulations to all of our raffle winners!
Remember that our school day will change beginning on April 5th. Our arrival time and process will remain the same beginning at 8:45am. Dismissal will now begin at 3:10pm with parents meeting their students at the classroom doors. The buses will begin to load students shortly after that. The half day kindergarten students will now be dismissed at 12:00pm. All in person students will attend school on Fridays beginning on April 9th. We will have early release Fridays on April 16th, May 7th, May 14th, May 21st, and June 4th. June 14th is our last day of school for students and will also be an early release day. Students will be dismissed on early release days beginning at 12:05pm with parents picking up at the classroom and buses following. All half day kindergarten students will go home on their regular morning bus on the early release days.
Please note that Friday, April 2nd is an asynchronous learning day for all students. Teachers will provide learning activities for students that day, but teachers will not be hosting live meetings with students. We will be doing out final planning and preparation for our students returning on April 5th.
