Autism Acceptance Month kicks off with World Autism Acceptance Day on April 2nd each year. The goal of this month is to bring not just awareness of autism, but acceptance of those who are autistic for all the things that make them unique, creative, and wonderfully AU-tistic. Today, most people are aware of autism, with 1 in 36 children being diagnosed with Autism in 2022, and roughly 2.2% of adults in the US being autistic.
The point of GDs Autism Acceptance Week is to bring attention to the wonderful aspects of autism, the ability to deep dive on interests, the unique way that all our brains work, and remember, that like the element gold, all AU-tistics are unique treasures in and of themselves.
Thank you to the Groton Dunstable Special Education Parent Advisory Council (GD SEPAC) for your support and resources. Join us in celebrating Autism Acceptance week from April 24th - 28th!
Alice has the key. What resides on the other side of the door? Three shows of 'Alice in Wonderland' take place at the GDRHS Black Box Theatre on Friday March 31st at 7:00 p.m. and April 1st at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
School will be delayed 2 hours on Wednesday, March 15. There will be no AM preschool or half day Kindergarten.
Families and staff,
Due to the impending snowstorm which will significantly impact our ability to bring students safely to school, GDRSD will be closed on Tuesday, February 28th.
Best regards,
Laura Chesson, Superintendent
In order to ensure that all of our elementary students arrive home prior to the onset of significant snowfall, Groton Dunstable Regional School District will be dismissing 1 hour early today. ALL schools will be dismissing one hour early. Afternoon preschool will be held be dismiss at 2:00 pm. All after school activities, including after school care at the Twomey Center are cancelled.
Out of an abundance of caution Groton-Dunstable will be closed today, Monday, January 23rd. We have just received word that power lines are down due to weather conditions near the high school, with the need to re-route some motorists. The conditions on the roads are variable. However the temperature is forecasted to continue to drop and the snow is forecasted to return, heavy at times. Things during dismissal are expected to be the worst and may result in unsafe conditions.
Due to continually deteriorating road conditions, the Groton-Dunstable Regional Schools will be closed today, Friday, January 20th. We apologize for the last-minute notice.

Hello GDRSD Community,
The holiday season has begun! With the upcoming long weekend, we encourage you to relax, unwind, and settle into a safe and restful break. While the holiday season is a time for togetherness and joy, it can sometimes bring unwelcome guests, like stress and grief. While we each celebrate this season's joys, it is important to stay mindful, acknowledge our feelings, and reach out for help if needed. To help keep your long weekend bright, attached are helpful resources that we encourage you to save so you can easily reference them should you or a family member need help.
