Dear Florence Roche Families,
Thank you to the PTA and the many volunteers who made this week’s book fair a huge success. Our students and staff always enjoy this event as it gets us excited to connect with a great book. We are also extremely grateful for all of the generous classroom library donations that individuals and families provided for students.
The week ended with a literary celebration as our school community came alive from the pages of our favorite books. Dress as a Book Character Day was a huge success! Thank you for your support at home to help your student become their favorite character.
The literacy theme continues as we have to thank our PTA for the generous donation of 21 new titles from the MCBA (Massachusetts Children’s Book Award). This totals 170 books, enough for each 4th grade classroom library and a set for the school library as well!
Our fourth grade parents provided the staff with a delicious breakfast to end our busy week. Thank you!
Does your student have breakfast at school? We are serving an average of 250-300 grab and go breakfasts to students every day. In a recent conversation with some of our classroom teachers, they noted that students are throwing away a lot of what they receive in their packaged breakfast. If your student already eats breakfast at home, please remind them not to take a breakfast if they do not intend on eating all or most of it.
There is a new traffic lane being constructed at our entrance off of Route 119. This will allow for vehicles traveling on to the middle school buildings to travel left rather than having to wait in our driveway lane. This should alleviate some of the congestion that happens during our drop off and pick up times. It is also helpful if pickups don’t arrive too early. Any time before 3:00pm starts to create a line of vehicles that can potentially extend into the main entrance driveway.
The high school drama group is performing their version of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest on
November 1st and 2nd.
Have a nice weekend.
