12/17/21

Dear Florence Roche Families,

We ended the week by attending the traditional holiday choral concert performed by our talented high school students.  This is always a highly anticipated event for our school.  Some of our students have siblings in the performance and many of the performers are former Florence Roche students.  The staff really enjoys seeing their former students.  COVID prevented us from holding this performance last year, but with the safety precautions in place (masked singers and audience, 2 sessions to provide for a smaller audience and greater distancing) we were able to bring this special holiday event back.  We all hope that 2022 brings us back to being able to enjoy these events as an entire school community.

Next week will be a busy one as we work to wrap up our work before the holiday break.  Teachers are completing their student report cards and the term 1 reports will be available through the family portal in SchoolBrains at the end of next week.  We will send out an announcement when the reports are posted.

Thursday, 12/23 is a full day of school for students.  School will be closed for the winter holiday break beginning on 12/24/21 and will reopen on 1/3/22.

Thank you to our PTA for providing us with a variety of new playground equipment.  Students have been enjoying all of the new soccer balls, basketballs, footballs and a variety of other enjoyable equipment.  The giant-sized Connect Four has been a big hit!  Thank you so much for supporting a fun and varied recess experience for all of our students.

We collected approximately 20 boxes of food to support the Loaves and Fishes food pantry.  Thank you to all of our families for helping us with this community service project.  Our 4th grade students demonstrated their leadership and organizational skills throughout this project.  During this season of giving, our students have been engaged in doing something helpful for others.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Brian
