Winter Athletics Registration is now open. All interested students must be fully registered by November 17th with a valid physical to be eligible for tryout/practice. If you have not paid your user fee for the Fall season, you will not be eligible for the upcoming season.

DRAMA GUILD FALL PRODUCTION: SHE KILLS MONSTERS
The Drama Guild invites the community to see their fall production: She Kills Monsters; Young Adventurers' Edition in the Black Box Theater at the High School next weekend. Shows are Friday, November 3rd at 7pm and Saturday, November 4th at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm. This show is an exciting way to kick off our new season.

Dr. Rachel Kramer/Helping Children Build Skills to Manage Stress and Worries - Thursday, November 2nd @ 7PM via Zoom
Please join Dr. Rachel Kramer for a conversation about how to help children build skills for managing stress and worries. Dr. Kramer will share cognitive behavioral strategies for managing stress. She will present specific strategies for building a coping toolbox and will offer many practical tips and tools. There will be ample time for Q&A at the end of the presentation.

SENIOR YEARBOOK PORTRAIT INFORMATION
This is a reminder that the deadline for submitting your senior portrait for the yearbook is October 31, 2023.
Please take a look at this senior portrait information sheet, which contains specifications for the portrait you will submit to the yearbook. Any questions, please contact Mr. Adams (jadams@gdrsd.org).
GUIDANCE DEPARTMENT NEWS:
2023-2024 66th Annual Massachusetts AFL-CIO Scholarship Awards Program
All graduating seniors in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts who are seeking a college degree or job training are eligible to compete. Scholarship awards this year total over half a million dollars.
To qualify, students must be a senior in high school, fill out the online application and then take the exam. Applicants must register in advance at www.massaflcio.org/scholarships. They will be accepting applications through Friday, December 22, 2023. The deadline is firm, and no late registrations will be accepted. The exam consists of 30 multiple choice questions and one written essay. All questions will be selected from the information in the study guide. Exams will be administered online at school in February.

AP EXAMS - Time to order your AP Exams. If you are currently enrolled in an AP class you need to order your exam now. Semester two AP courses will be ordered in February.
Payments of $110 per exam are due in guidance by November 10, 2023. Make checks payable to GDRHS. One check for all exams is fine.
If you are enrolled in an AP Class and do not plan on taking the exam, you must inform your AP Coordinator (mcain@gdrsd.org) and your teacher before the ordering deadline of November 10th. Note: You will not receive AP credit if you opt out, you will only receive honors credit for that class.
NASHUA REGIONAL COLLEGE FAIR - The event is open to any junior or senior students in Southern New Hampshire and Northern Massachusetts.
