students at DECA 2024

We're thrilled to share our exciting journey at the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) held in Anaheim, California. Our time there was nothing short of extraordinary!

First and foremost, we want to extend our gratitude to everyone who supported us in this endeavor. It's through your encouragement and guidance that we were able to make our mark at ICDC.

The GDRHS students who represented at the conference put in an immense amount of effort to qualify for this prestigious event. Saanvi Gowda, Jason Zambuto, Shrinand Sriprasad, Daniel Soars, Landen Kane, Jack Hickey, and April Soynanhang spearheaded numerous initiatives throughout the 2023-24 academic year. From organizing community outreach events to conducting membership development workshops and service projects, they showcased exemplary dedication. Their hard work resulted in a remarkable 56% increase in our chapter's membership, earning them well-deserved spots at the ICDC Emerging Leader Series Academy. At the academy, they had the opportunity to connect with over 23,000 students from across the nation, further enriching their experience.

Additionally, we're immensely proud of Vinson Huang, Ryan Ghamsari, and Eric Fu, who qualified for ICDC with their outstanding performance in the stock market. Over the course of the year, they skillfully managed to grow an initial investment of $100,000 in stocks, ETFs, and bonds to an impressive $150,000. Their exemplary financial acumen, coupled with a stellar 15-minute presentation to a panel of judges, earned them finalist medals at ICDC, placing them in the top 20 worldwide. This achievement is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and exceptional talent.

Beyond the competitions, our students had an unforgettable time exploring the vibrant city of Anaheim. From the enchanting Disneyland to the bustling Anaheim Convention Center, every moment was filled with excitement and camaraderie. We've attached a few photos capturing the highlights of our trip for you to enjoy.

Lastly, none of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of our chaperones, Anna Rosenfeld and Lynette Fisher. Their guidance and mentorship were invaluable throughout our journey, and we're immensely grateful for their dedication.

In conclusion, our experience at ICDC was truly enriching and memorable. We're immensely proud of our achievements and grateful for the support we received every step of the way. As we reflect on this incredible journey, we're filled with a renewed sense of determination and inspiration. Thank you all for your unwavering support.
