DECA NEWS
GD DECA has returned from our trip to the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Anaheim, California. We had an incredible time!
The students who attended this conference have completed countless hours of work to qualify for this event. Saanvi Gowda, Jason Zambuto, Shrinand Sriprasad, Daniel Soars, Landen Kane, Jack Hickey, and April Soynanhang helped to organize more than three community outreach events, three membership development workshops, and three service projects during the 2023-24 school year. They also worked to grow our chapter's membership by 56%. This opened up positions for them to attend the ICDC Emerging Leader Series Academy. Here they networked with nearly 23,000 students nationwide!
Three students, Vinson Huang, Ryan Ghamsari, and Eric Fu, qualified for ICDC with their stock portfolio. Throughout the course of this year, they grew an initial $100,000 invested in stocks, ETFs, and bonds, to over $150,000! This coupled with their 15 minute presentation to a panel of judges, awarded them finalist medals at ICDC! They placed in the top 20 worldwide! I am beyond proud of their accomplishment.
The students had a blast in California! Attached are a couple photos from the Anaheim Convention Center. None of this would have been possible without our chaperone, Lynette Fisher!
