TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK (MAY 5TH - MAY 9TH)

Thank you to the 25 families who have already donated to make TEACHER APPRECIATION week at the Groton Dunstable regional high school a reality but in order to extend the celebrations all week long we still need additional donations.  We have extended the donation collection time to  TUESDAY APRIL 15th.   Please consider sending in a donation by next Tuesday so that we know what type of funds we have available to work with to pull off a week long of fun surprises for the staff at the high school to show our appreciation for them.

Ways to donate:

1.)  send money via paypal:  jend5375@aol.com

2.)  leave a donation marked in an envelope w/ your name on it and teacher appreciation in the main office with Mrs. Palmacci.  Please make checks payable to Jen West

3.)  leave a donation at West Auto Repair located at 30 Pleasant St. in Dunstable, MA.  Again please mark the envelope w/ your name on it and write teacher appreciation

4.)  make a donation via VENMO @margare-Lynch-16

Thank you in advance for your willingness to help us create a week of fun and surprises for the staff at GDRHS.

TOUR OF THE WORLD

Last week the Breakfast Club hosted the 3rd Annual Tour of the World event at the High School.  Tour of the World is a three day event that celebrates all the different cultures that are in our school. The last day was dedicated to cultural performances, where students could share any type of performance from their culture in our all school assembly. For this year's performances we had the GD Chamber Choir, the GD Korean Dance Club, a solo performance from Yūta Krajewski, and a game led by Keren Noonan. You can find their performances on the Groton Channel.  This was made possible, in part, through a grant from the Groton-Dunstable Educational Foundation, which provided funds for decorations and food.

ATTENTION GRADE 9 PARENTS

Groton Dunstable Regional High School will conduct state-mandated postural screenings for Grade 9 students in May and June.

The Postural Screening Program is intended as a supplement to your child’s primary health care. The purpose is to detect signs of spinal curvature at the earliest stages to prevent its progression.  Postural screenings are performed annually in grades 5 through 9, the time of the most rapid growth and when signs of spinal curvatures typically appear.

Nurses will conduct these screenings. Students will be screened separately and privacy will be maintained at all times.  The screening is a simple 30 second observation of the back with the shirt/top removed.  If your child has any unusual findings, you will receive a letter recommending further evaluation by your child’s healthcare provider.

Opt Out:   If you DO NOT want your child to participate in the postural screening, or if your child is being monitored by your healthcare provider please opt out using the link below by April 18, 2025.

Please contact the school nurse, Cheryl Shea, cshea@gdrsd.org  or 978-448-6362; extension 1018  if you have any questions.
