We’re proud to offer Google Classroom to our students in grades two through twelve. This essential platform helps students manage their assignments, communicate with teachers, and access valuable learning resources.
What Are Guardian Email Summaries?
Guardian Email Summaries provide you with regular updates about your student’s work in Google Classroom. These summaries allow you to stay on top of your student’s assignments and class activities without logging into Google Classroom.
What’s Included in the Email Summaries?
When you sign up for these summaries, you’ll receive an email that includes:
Missing Work: A list of assignments not turned in by the due date.
Upcoming Work: Information about assignments due today or tomorrow (for daily emails) or the upcoming week (for weekly emails).
Class Activities: Recent announcements, assignments, and questions posted by your student’s teachers.
Parents and guardians also have the added benefit of guardian preview capabilities. This feature lets you view your student’s Classwork page directly from the summary email, giving you more insight into their work. Please see a sample summary screen capture at the bottom of the article. Important to note that email summaries do not include grades. Formal grading information will be shared on the SchoolBrains Community Portal.
Getting Started with Email Summaries
To receive these summaries, you must accept an email invitation from your student’s teacher or a school administrator. Here’s how:
Check Your Email: Look for an invitation email from your student’s teacher or administrator.
Accept the Invitation: Open the email and click the “Accept” button.
Confirmation: You and your student will receive a confirmation email once you accept.
How to Unsubscribe or Adjust Settings
You can unsubscribe from these summaries at any time. However, you will no longer be connected as a guardian if you unsubscribe and don’t have a Google Account. You’ll remain connected to your student even after unsubscribing if you have a Google Account.
