Family Memo

Hello Middle School families.  I hope you have a great weekend.  There is a lot here.

A message from our counselors:

If your student is applying to another school for next year, please read this information about our process for requesting teacher recommendations and school transcripts. Recommendations from teachers and counselors will start to go out after the first term grades have been published to families. Please allow at least 3 weeks for staff to complete the forms.

For more information about 8th grade transitions, please refer to the GDRMS counseling department website. This page will continuously be updated.

Spirit Week,

Our Middle School Class Advisors have been working to organize a spirit /community service week (10/28-11/1) to celebrate the end of Q1! In order to get students excited and promote participation, we are turning this spirit week into a grade level competition and added in a Kids' Night Out on Friday, Nov.1, from 6-8pm.

Each day will have a different dress up theme as well as a different community donation.

  • The Kids' Night Out will be on Friday, November 1, from 6-8pm.

  • Grades 5 and 6 will be in the Marion Stoddart building with board games, open gym, and a movie. If you are interested in chaperoning the 5/6 event, please reach out to Kristy Coletti and Nicole Stone (Grade 5 advisors), or Steph Miller and Matt Putnam (grade 6 advisors).

  • Grades 7 and 8 will be in the North building with board games and a dance. If you are interested in chaperoning the 7/8 event, please reach out to me, Codi Bennett (grade 7 advisor) or Brennan Bennett (grade 8 advisor).

We will start advertising to students next week in the announcements, but feel free to start spreading the word and getting kids excited!
