Hello Middle School families. I hope you are having a great weekend.
If you did not see my email the other day our Middle School Library is looking for some book donations. We are looking for “like new/ new condition” books that are appropriate for grades 5-8. If you have some and would like to donate you can do so by dropping them off in either office labeled Mrs. West or Mrs. Thibault.
Grade 8 Families, We had a great turnout at Tuesday night's meeting for the Washington DC Trip. Here is the link to the slide presentation that was used last night. The registration information was distributed to students today. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Parent Conferences are the week of November 18th. Wednesday November 20th conferences will be in the afternoon from 12-2:30 and Thursday November 21st conferences will be from 6-8. Please be reminded that we only have 41/2 hours for conferences over the course of these two days. Conferences are set up first come first serve. We do our very best to accommodate all requests. Your kindness is appreciated with the process.
The 7th grade did a Halloween door decorating contest. We did post pictures on our website under Livefeed. When talking with one of the 7th grade teachers she made a comment about how well the students worked together. The students were charged with picking a theme for their doors and then they needed to communicate next steps, negotiate roles, and divide and conquer. From the students' lens they felt that breaking off into groups, drafting plans and then working together was what got them success. These are all skills that help them work as team players.
Today was First Friday meaning that we had our GDRMS news and music trivia. You have to check out the video. It’s awesome. https://youtu.be/aVLkd6GML_I?feature=shared
Shout Out, big shout out to the families and students for all of the donations that came in this week. We are literally bringing truckloads. Canned goods are going to PACH outreach in Pepperell, Toiletries are going to North Star Family Services, Gently used winter clothes are going to Catie’s Closet and Cereal or other dried goods are going to Loaves and Fishes. THANK YOU!!
Help for the Holidays:
For some people in our community, the holiday season can be anything but happy. If you are a family with school aged children and are experiencing financial difficulties, please remember that our Community Children's Fund can help with food, winter clothing and holiday gifts.
If you would like to experience the joy of giving during this upcoming season, the Community Children's Fund is able to offer several different options. To participate in either of these traditions, giving or receiving, please contact Karen Tuomi at (978) 877-6787 or email trustfunds@grotonma.gov.
Confidentiality will be strictly maintained.
