Family memo

Happy Sunday Groton Dunstable Regional Middle School Families. I hope you had a great weekend.   Happy Mother's Day to all the moms, grandmoms, dog moms, and dads or grandparents whom ever is the mom in your home.

Topic for all families:

  • You should have received an email from me last night about our high school students who are currently working on making “A World of Difference” in our schools.  “A World of Difference” is part of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL)  programming which you can read more about at the following link.  A World of Difference® Institute  We are excited to share that this program will come to our middle school next year! We are starting to meet with a group of engaged and motivated teachers to make this a success. Although our GDRMS group will be an extension of the high school group, they will be creating their own purpose and goals connected to the culture and climate of our building and the developmental needs of our students. Selected students in the 7th and 8th grade will be trained, and part of their role will be to positively impact the other spaces and grade levels. All students selected will receive a permission slip to take home.  Since we are in our first year of creating and implementing a process for selecting students, we want you to know that we are working to be as thoughtful as possible.  Be on the lookout for additional updates in a future newsletter.

  • May is Mental Health awareness month. Our middle school guidance department wanted me to share this flier with you  Mental Health Awareness Month.

Middle School PTO

  • Our PTO will generously be setting up a teacher appreciation luncheon catered by Salt and Light on  Friday May 13th which is a half day.   The PTO has created a Venmo account for families to be able to donate.  You should have received an email last week with the Venmo information.  If you wish to donate to the PTO please either use the Venmo account or send a check in with your child to their homeroom teacher.  Thank you from the PTO
