One of our 6th grade students Aadhya Madapadi attended a STEM event which was also attended by Lieutenant Governor of MA and they were very proud to see representation from Groton. Background info on MA Stem week. Massachusetts STEM Week 2022 takes place from October 17 – 21 (inclusive of the weekend before and after), and is organized by the Executive Office of Education and the STEM Advisory Council in partnership with the state’s 9 Regional STEM Networks. It is a statewide effort to boost the interest, awareness and ability for all learners to envision themselves in STEM education and employment opportunities, and compliment the formal instruction happening in the Commonwealth beyond STEM week. The theme for the fifth annual statewide STEM Week is “See Yourself in STEM,” Attached are some pictures from the event. Aadhya and her friend got to share some robot motions and solved a mission. Her mom was so proud that she shared the photos with me and told me I could share with all of you. I shared the photos with all her teachers as well. I welcome all of you to share your student's accomplishments with us as their family and community experiences are just as important to us as their school experiences.

Our 5th grade had Norah Dooley, Storyteller/Author in on Thursday and Friday working with our students on how to tell stories. How to close your eyes and what do you think, feel, smell. What do you see and touch. All of these details go into how we create and tell stories. Thank you Norah and thank you MSPTO for funding the experience.
