Sophie Chum (1C) knows how to show Resilience! She has an injury with her hand and due to the cast, is not able to write with her right hand. Instead, she has been working hard to write with her left hand!
Emma Mae Meyers (1A) is always Respectful towards her teachers and classmates. She cheers on her friends and compliments their abilities. She noticed a classmate having a hard time in gym class and she made that friend feel better by highlighting their strengths!
Eddie Seero (1A) has been working very hard this year in all that he does. He recently noticed one of his fellow classmates having a hard time in gym class and offered encouragement to that friend. Well done, Eddie!

Students Arriving Late to School
Parents/Guardians - if you do not make it to parent drop off (ends around 8:55 am) and you pull around to the front of the school and there are NO staff members outside, you must:
Park your car in a parking space - please do not use the fire lane
Walk into the office to sign your student in the office so they can get a pass and ensure they are marked present.
There continues to be numerous families that drop their child off at the front door and leave. You are required to walk them in and sign them in to school. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding of the school’s sign in procedures when late.
Healthy Bites Newsletter: Let's Get Moving!
Dear Students and Parents,
Welcome to another edition of the Healthy Bites Newsletter! This month, we're all about getting up, getting active, and having fun with exercise.
Why Exercise is Awesome:
1. Strong Bodies: Regular physical activity helps keep our muscles, bones, and hearts strong and healthy. It also boosts our immune system, helping us fight off germs and stay well.
2. Happy Hearts: Exercise releases feel-good chemicals in our brains called endorphins, which can help us feel happier and less stressed. It's like giving our hearts a big, warm hug!
3. Super Brains: Did you know that being active can make us smarter? It's true! Exercise helps improve our memory, focus, and ability to learn new things. So, the more we move, the smarter we get!
Fun Ways to Get Moving:
1. Playground Power: Swing, slide, climb, and run around at the playground. It's a great way to get exercise and make new friends at the same time
2. Dance Party: Crank up your favorite tunes and have a dance party in your living room. Move your body to the beat and show off your best dance moves!
3. Sports Spectacular: Try out different sports like soccer, basketball, or swimming. Team sports are a blast, but solo sports like biking or skating are just as awesome.
Family Fitness Challenge:
Set a goal to be active as a family for at least 30 minutes every day. Take a walk together after dinner, go for a bike ride on the weekends, or challenge each other to a game of tag in the backyard. Get creative and have fun!
Remember, exercise isn't just good for our bodies—it's good for our hearts, minds, and spirits too.
So, let's lace up our sneakers, stretch our muscles, and get ready to move and groove!!
Together, we can make healthy habits that last a lifetime.
Keep shining bright, superstars, and have a wonderful April vacation.
Sincerely, Nurse Jen and Nurse Kate

Message from GDEF ~ Please consider a donation.
The Groton Dunstable Education Foundation (GDEF) is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting innovative and inspiring grants to enhance the quality of our students’ education. In the last academic year, GDEF awarded 12 grants across district schools totaling over $16,000 (information about all funded projects can be found here). If you or any loved ones are looking to make a year-end donation that will have an impact on your children's education, please consider donating to GDEF here. Your donations are directly returned to the hands and minds of students in the form of science, arts, technology, math, literacy, social-emotional learning, and civics programming.
Thank you for your support, The GDEF Board of Directors
The GDEF recently and graciously granted us funding to buy 16 wordless picture books for each of our Kindergarten classrooms. These books are an example of all the ways GDEF supports our students! Thank you for enriching our learning community!
School Start Time
The school day begins right at 8:55 am and both bus and parent drop off areas are completed at this time as well. If you bring your child to school after this time, please park in the parking lot and walk your child into the office to be signed in. Please do not drop your child off at the front door alone and please refrain from parking in the fire lane for safety reasons.
Absences
If your child(ren) will be absent for any reason, parents/guardians are responsible for notifying the school by calling in the absence. All student absences must be reported by 8:55 am by calling (978) 649-7281, choose option #1 and provide your child(rens) name, teacher, and reason for absence. Anyone who calls after this timeframe may receive an automated call regarding your child’s absence from school without notification. This is in place to ensure all students are accounted for either at home or in school.
