BACK TO SCHOOL

This week began by welcoming back our awesome SU staff - the time was used for collaboration, planning, and getting our school and classrooms ready to start the year ready to go. We did some team-building activities and shared our summer adventures through a selfie. We also welcomed Superintendent Geoff Bruno to our meeting as he got to know us and what makes Swallow Union special to our district and the community of Dunstable.

The next time you come into the school, check out the pictures and descriptions in the front lobby on our “SU Summer Selfie Bulletin Board” display! And take a few minutes to enjoy this video montage of all the photos - SU Summer.

Thank you to our PTO for providing us with a wonderful lunch and stocked teacher’s lounge to kick off another school year - we feel very fortunate to have such amazing families supporting Swallow Union.

Welcome to K Night

What a beautiful Monday evening to welcome our incoming Kindergarteners and their families into Swallow Union. Thank you to our K teachers, PTO, our volunteer Ti-GRRR mascot, Dee Bus, and families for making this time meaningful for our students and easing the transition into Kindergarten.

CHALK THE WALK

There is nothing better than starting your day with positive messages filling your thoughts and hearts. When I was walking into Swallow Union Wednesday morning (very early I might add), I took some time to walk around the front of the school to read all of the positive notes and a huge, warm, loving feeling came over me. That is the power of kindness, thinking of others, and feeding positive messages into the world. Thank you! I know our staff and students loved them, too!

BREAKFAST PROGRAM

GDRSD will offer free breakfast to all students starting this Tuesday, September 3rd.

If you have a child(ren) getting breakfast at school, please review the process with them to ensure a smooth rollout. While their teachers have reviewed this with them in class, reminding them at home is helpful, especially on Tuesday morning.

Once your child arrives at the school, instead of going to their classrooms first, they will go straight to the kitchen to pick up their breakfast, the same way they pick up their lunch.  Once there, they will select a “Grab and Go” breakfast and bring it to their classrooms to eat. This will ensure students are present for all morning-related tasks including attendance.

To check out the menu please visit our website - Click HERE for the food planner link, find our school, and click and both breakfast and lunch menus will be there.

Ti-GRRR CARDS

G ~ We believe that one can develop a GROWTH mindset and learn new things.

R ~ A RESPECTFUL school community member is considerate of others.

R ~ A RESPONSIBLE school community member takes care of themselves, others, and their environment.

R ~ A RESILIENT school community member takes on challenges, learns from mistakes, and experiences growth through this process.

Again this year, we are excited to continue acknowledging students throughout the school when they demonstrate Swallow Union’s Core Values and what it means to be a Ti-GRRR! I look forward to celebrating our student’s growth and demonstration of our values.
