Mr. Kimpton visited all fourth grades today to discuss the Pledge of Allegiance-its history and meaning. We were a captive audience! Thank you, Mr. Kimpton!
Students in third grade participated in Discovery Museum's Earth Science Workshop where they learned about the three different types of rock (Igneous, Sedimentary, and Metamorphic) and how they are formed. This hands-on lesson had our 3rd graders learn how to grow crystals, how weathering and erosion differ, and create their own sediment tube.
School will be delayed 2 hours on Wednesday, March 15. There will be no AM preschool or half day Kindergarten.
Kindergarten paintings inspired by Alma Thomas the first black woman to have her painting hanging in the White House.
1st grade artists working in the style of Alma Thomas, an abstract color field artist. They are having fun abstracting photographs of natural settings or creating patterns of their own ideation using foam rectangle stamps to achieve Alma's signature style.

Third graders in 3K making cacti plants while learning about animal and plant adaptations.
Third graders had a special presentation called Survive and Thrive from High Touch High Tech which focused on how animals and plants have adapted to their environments to help them survive.
Winter themed teamwork. In PE this week we built hula hoop igloos (hula huts) as teams and then participated in a team relay to gather equipment to construct a winter scene. It was an excellent opportunity for teamwork, creativity and physical activity all in one. It's amazing what they came up with!

2H's President projects!
In 2B's Valentine's STEM project, students explored and then kept in mind the four properties of flight when designing and constructing paper airplanes. The goal was to build a paper plane (with a bonus secret message written inside) to fly the farthest. Students used meters and inches to measure flight distance.
